Our products are designed and hand made in our workshops in Argyll, Scotland

Design in Harmony is a collaboration between two skilled furniture makers – Sarah Selman, designer and upholsterer and Gareth Wilson,  wood-worker. The products are hand-made to commission, bespoke for each individual, whether musician or simply someone who appreciates good design and fine making.

The Wood

Our ethos is quality and sustainability, Using temperate hardwoods we select the timber and processes most suitable for the pieces we make. American Black Walnut, Cherry and Beech are popular choices, finished to a satin sheen from traditional shellac based finishes and wax polish. We know that instruments have soul. So do our pieces.

The Fabric

The juxtaposition of beautiful fabric and finely finished wood is something exciting.Whether sumptuous velvet or a traditional tweed in an eye-catching colour, the fabrics have been carefully chosen to create a visual entity designed compliment your instrument.
